Bridgend Business Forum
The Bridgend Business Forum provides local business people with an opportunity to meet new customers and suppliers, learn new skills, share best practice, and keep up to date with the political, legislative and economic factors that could affect their business. Importantly the forum also provides an opportunity for business people to voice their views.

Employability Bridgend
Employability Bridgend work with both employed and unemployed people across Bridgend County Borough and can provide free training and mentoring support. Including for people in employment wanting to improve their employment situation they can provide support to increase working hours, move into a different job, progress into a better job, and achieve a higher income.
Once a business is trading then the project can help with recruitment and also with skills for the owner and staff.

Rebel Business School
Rebel Business Schools (Pop-Up Business School) consist of 5 full-day sessions supporting people into self-employment and teaching them how to set up a business for free, usually this is run annually. Rebel Business Schools are also developing a 1-day course to run a few times a year. The approach is very engaging and gives wary people confidence to make the first steps.
Pop-Up Business School deliver the inspiration, information and practical help needed to get your idea to the next level.

Business Wales
Business in Focus deliver the Welsh Government’s flagship Business Wales service, which provides advice and information to pre-start and existing businesses. This means that anyone who is seeking to start a business or has an existing SME business in Wales, can engage with us to access support via one-to-one appointments with the relevant business adviser, Specialist webinars or access to our online services.
Business in Focus can provide owners and managers of SMEs with tailored consultancy and advice to suit different stages and circumstances. This can include topics such as business planning, employment and HR issues, help with access to finance, tendering, sustainability, international trade, training seminars and locating networking events.

Start Up Grants and Loans
Business loans available from Business in Focus
Business in Focus is an Official Delivery Partner of the Start Up Loans scheme and can assist you in applying for a Start Up Loan.
Start Up Loans can offer you:
- Unsecured loans of between £500 – £25,000
- Fixed interest rate, currently 6.19%
- Repayment period from 1 to 5 years
- FREE mentoring for the first year of the loan

Welsh Government
Productivity Enhancement Programme
This programme of support, aimed at manufacturers, includes funding for capital expenditure in new technologies and helps businesses move to the next level.
The programme aims to increase efficiency, develop new products and explore new markets within the business. Every participant in the scheme will be assigned a Welsh Government Relationship Manager and Innovation Specialist to help review productivity enhancement and support them through the business friendly application process.

Department for Work and Pensions provides support to employers that are looking to grow and develop their business. DWP can signpost you to useful advice for your business, including:
